Global Exhibition Design for CME: Zurich, Chennai & Pune Trade Show Case Study

Over the course of a year, Studio Exalt partnered with CME to create three distinct exhibition experiences across Switzerland and India, each tailored to a different audience while maintaining a consistent brand identity.

The journey began at Solar & Storage Live Zurich, continued through Automotive Testing Expo Chennai, and culminated at SIAT Expo Pune 2026. Together, these projects established a recognizable visual language for CME on the global stage and demonstrated how strategic exhibition design can strengthen brand perception, attract visitors, and communicate complex technologies with clarity.

Project Objectives

The exhibition program was designed to:

  • Create a strong and consistent global brand presence for CME.
  • Position CME as a technology-driven leader in environmental conditioning and testing solutions.
  • Support international collaboration with Swiss technology partner Lumartix SA.
  • Develop a modular design language that could be adapted across multiple exhibitions and geographies.
  • Increase visitor engagement through immersive visual storytelling and product-focused displays.

Exhibition 1: Solar & Storage Live Zurich, Switzerland

Setting the Benchmark for Europe

Held at Solar & Storage Live Zurich, one of Switzerland’s leading renewable energy exhibitions, this project marked CME’s entry into a highly competitive European exhibition environment. The event attracts solar, storage, utility, and industrial energy professionals from across the region.

For CME, the Zurich exhibition was more than a trade show appearance—it was an opportunity to establish a European-standard visual identity capable of competing alongside established international brands.

Design Approach

Studio Exalt developed a clean, premium exhibition environment built around:

  • Dark architectural surfaces for a sophisticated technology-focused appearance.
  • Illuminated branding visible from long distances.
  • Large-format graphics communicating innovation and growth.
  • Open visitor circulation encouraging product interaction.
  • A visual language aligned with European exhibition standards.

The design positioned CME as a mature international engineering company while creating a platform for its collaboration with Swiss partner Lumartix SA, an Aubonne-based technology company operating in cleantech and energy-related sectors.

Outcome

The Zurich booth became the foundation for CME’s future exhibition strategy. Its architectural language, lighting approach, graphic treatment, and brand positioning established a design standard that would subsequently influence CME’s exhibition presence in India.

Exhibition 2: Automotive Testing Expo Chennai

Bringing International Design Standards to India

Building on the success of Zurich, Studio Exalt adapted the European design language for Automotive Testing Expo Chennai, one of India’s most important events dedicated to automotive testing, validation, simulation, and quality engineering.

The objective was clear: maintain the premium international identity established in Switzerland while making the booth more product-centric for an audience focused on testing technologies and engineering solutions.

CME + Lumartix Partnership

A key feature of the Chennai exhibition was the continued presentation of the partnership between CME and Lumartix SA.

The booth communicated a unified message of innovation by showcasing:

  • Advanced testing solutions.
  • Solar simulation technologies.

For SIAT Expo Pune 2026, organized by ARAI and regarded as one of India’s premier automotive engineering events, Studio Exalt further refined CME’s exhibition presence.

Having established a recognizable design language through Zurich and Chennai, the focus shifted toward creating a more immersive brand experience while preserving continuity.

Design Strategy

The booth incorporated:

  • Strong architectural framing.
  • Premium lighting integration.
  • Large-format digital communication.
  • Country-specific partnership representation.
  • Enhanced visitor engagement zones.

The result was a mature exhibition environment that reflected CME’s growing international footprint and technological capabilities.

Outcome

The SIAT booth demonstrated how a carefully developed exhibition system can evolve across multiple events while maintaining brand consistency. Visitors familiar with CME’s previous exhibitions could immediately recognize the brand, creating continuity and strengthening recall.

A wooden work surface was incorporated to improve suitability for electrical and precision work.

The Result

Across three major exhibitions and two countries, Studio Exalt helped CME transform its exhibition presence from individual event participation into a cohesive global brand experience.
